D is for Drumlanrig - Renaissance Palace of Art
The area around Dumfries has a great variety of different building types from romantic ruins to palaces with high art.
Programme (subject to confirmation):
8.15am -- Assemble at North Hanover Street
10.00am -- Arrive at Drumlanrig
12.00pm -- Arrive at Lincluden
12.45pm -- Arrive at Caerlaverock
14.30pm -- Leave Caerlaverock
15.00pm -- Arrive AT Sweetheart Abbey/Corn mill
17.30pm -- Depart for Glasgow
19.00pm -- Approx Time City Centre
The cost of the Study Day is £44.00 per person and includes bus hire costs, all admissions and administration costs, morning coffee and afternoon tea. It is intended that lunch will be an ‘al fresco’ picnic which is not included so bring your own canapés and caviar. Those preferring to do so can buy lunch at the Tearoom at Caerlaverock Castle. The detailed programme is still to be finalised and full details will be issued to participants at the end of July 2010.
Due to the bus hire there is a minimum number of 25 persons required to run this study day and early booking would be much appreciated.
