Summer Study Day: Falkirk Wheel and Culross

The award winning Falkirk Wheel re-linking the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals has revitalised the heritage lost in 1933 when the original 11 locks were dismantled. Under the Millennium Link project the waterways have again become reconnected and with the further development of a new marina at Kirkintilloch the canals have a burgeoning future with tourism at its centre.

The cost of the Study Day is £28.00 per person for NTS members and includes morning coffee, a trip on the Falkirk Wheel, two course lunch at Charlestown and tour guides at Culross. If you are not a member of the NTS you may have to self-pay the appropriate admission charges at Culross.

Afternoon teas can be self-purchased in either the NTS tearoom or the Biscuit Café above the pottery and art gallery.

The detailed programme is still to be finalised and full details will be issued to participants at the end of May 2010.
