**Industrial Buildings Heritage Walk** SOLD OUT

A guided walk around Easter Road, led by Hetty Lancaster.

**NOW FULLY BOOKED**

Venue: details to be provided upon booking
Time: 6pm
Cost: £8

Edinburgh’s long industrial heritage is often forgotten in favour of its intellectual legacy, but several of the city’s purpose-built industrial premises remain hidden in plain sight. Focusing on the area around Easter Road, Hetty Lancaster explores several surviving industrial buildings including a printworks, a cigarette factory, and an iron foundry, placing each within the wider context of Edinburgh’s industrial ‘East End’, which developed after the arrival of the railways in the mid-nineteenth century. The walk takes place entirely outside and will look at building exteriors only. Distance covered will be approximately 2km, terrain mostly flat with occasional steps.
