Last year the Smart History team used a sketch of Edinburgh and the Canongate by the English military engineer Richard Lee to create a digital representation of the capital city in the early 1540s (available online and via mobile app.) In this talk, Smart History’s Dr Alan Miller and Dr Bess Rhodes will discuss the historical research and modern digital technology that lie behind their innovative Edinburgh 1544 reconstruction.
