This visit explores in detail the interiors of Dalkeith Palace, the grandest early classical house in Lothian, designed by leading Scottish architect James Smith from 1699. Led by Ian Gow and Charlotte Rostek (Dalkeith Palace Development Lead), the tour includes a lecture showing the interiors as furnished prior to 1914, a visit to St Mary’s Episcopal Church (the Palace chapel until 1958), the ice house and other fine estate buildings. Please make your own way to the starting point and bring a packed lunch; cost includes entry and coffee
