26 Nov | Annual Plenderleith Memorial Lecture: ‘2020 – A great disruption or ‘plus ça change’?’

Icon Scotland group invites all heritage professionals and enthusiasts to the 23rd annual Plenderleith Memorial Lecture.
Speaker: Euan Leitch, Director, Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS)

Icon Scotland is delighted to welcome Euan Leitch as the speaker for the 23rd annual Harold Plenderleith Memorial Lecture on 26th November at 7pm.

Euan is the Director of Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS), an umbrella organisation representing conservation policy interests across archaeology, buildings and landscapes. Join us at Icon Scotland on-line for a fascinating lecture – Euan has unique sector oversight for the wider conservation landscape in Scotland, engaging daily with the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government, working through BEFS to influence policy and legislation. In 2020 BEFS created the COVID Historic Environment Resilience Forum in an attempt to understand the short and long-term impacts of the pandemic situation. He will speak about the findings as part of this lecture.

The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with Euan, Lucy Casot – CEO Museum & Galleries Scotland, Sara Crofts – CEO Icon and Dr William Napier (SPAB Scotland) as well as a Q&A session.
